MCCL feature – 10 Questions with Alex Brennan
In August, the Middlesex County Cricket League’s 10 Questions feature was with 1st XI captain Alex Brennan. See the feature below:
Alex Brennan, is a player who has commanded huge respect over the years in his time at Acton as a player and captain. Not only is he a very good cricketer, but also an individual who thinks a lot about the game and has built up a good knowledge of teams and players. At the moment, he is trying to take his side back into Division Two, but whilst trying to mastermind that took some time out to take part in the ’10 questions’ feature.

Tales of a wicketkeeper
It is cricketing truism that wicketkeepers are a crazy breed; anyone who is willing to stand there and have hard balls pelted at your head and chest all day with little more than your hands for defence must have not one but an industrial sized bag of screws loose. If you ever needed proof of this, you need look no further than Acton’s 2nd XI stalwart, Jadvinder Sahota. If you don’t know who that is, it’s because to you and me and the rest of his “family” at Acton as he calls us, he’s simply ‘Wurz’.

5 questions with... James Hunt
The Hunts are an Acton CC dynasty, and arguably the most decorated player in the familly is James. Now the 1st XI’s (reluctant) senior pro, Jambo has been a mainstay and key member of Acton’s 1st XI for not too far off 20 years, which has included two stints and four seasons as captain and another four as vice captain. Initially a nippy opening bowling all rounder, Jambo has occupied just about every position in the side during his long stint in Acton’s 1st XI, much of which was played alongside cousin Keith. A fierce competitor and highly talented all round cricketer, Jambo is the subject of our latest 5 Questions….

2018 club development plan
Dear member,
Below is an overview of the Club’s Development Plan for 2018. We continue to push forward together as a club, and this year two of our senior teams – our 2nd XI and 3rd XI – will compete in the premier division of Middlesex County League cricket for the fist time in our history. Together, we will look to build on our achievements both on and off the field in the coming year for the benefits of junior and senior members, existing and new members alike.
Please refresh yourself of our club constitution and club policies which are available on the Our Club section of the website.

5 questions with... Dan Waddell
Not too many award winning authors would fit in at Acton. Dan Waddell has, in all probability, written more books than most in the club can claim to have read. However, since joining the club six years ago Dan has become an absolute rock at Acton – skippering the 2nd XI, scoring bucket load of runs, running colts teams and twice winning the coveted Clubman of the Year Award. On top of that, he is still an absolute class act on the field, with the occasional call-up to the 1st XI providing him scope to demonstrate what a classy and easy on the eye top order batter he is. In a highly entertaining read, we asked Dan Waddell our usual five questions…
